Hello, my name is Gary Hutchinson and I am Imps mascot Poacher The Imp. I’m in my late twenties (really late as I’m 31) and currently live at Newtoft which is effectively a field near Market Rasen.
I’m a lifelong Imps fan thanks mainly to my Dad and Granddad, and attended my first game waaaaaay back in October 1986 where we were soundly thrashed 4-1 at home by Hartlepool. For some reason ever since then I’ve been a massive Imps fan.
I have a number of players I hold in the highest regard. My favourite all time Imps are Paul Smith (ginger one from Port Vale not rubbish one from Forest), David Puttnam (the original water walker), Peter Gain (technically the best player City have had in my time) and of course Richard Butcher. From outside Lincoln I also admire Eric Cantona who in my opinion is the most enigmatic footballer to ever walk this planet.
Hopefully my blog will keep you entertained with tales of mascots, Lincoln City and maybe the odd unrelated anecdote that just makes you smile. I’d love feedback, comments and question if you wanna fire any off at me.
